NDA’s VP candidate CP Radhakrishnan files nomination in presence of PM Modi

New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) National democratic Alliance's (NDA) vice presidential candidate CP Radhakrishnan today filed his nomination for the elections here.

He filed his nomination in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president and Union minister JP Nadda, Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Kiren Rijiju, Lalan Singh and other leaders of the NDA.

CP Radhakrishnan was unanimously nominated as the NDA's vice presidential candidate.

The NDA Parliamentary Party leaders in a meeting had unanimously authorised the Prime Minister and BJP president to take the final decision on the party’s candidate for the Vice President of India.

Yesterday, the INDIA bloc unanimously fielded former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy as a consensus candidate for the vice presidential election.

The vice presidential election is scheduled for September 9, following the resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 21 due to health-related reasons.
